Walk As You May

The flowers looked up at me and blinked
Their eyes with wonder filled
A quaking aspen watched me pass
And all her leaves were stilled

The little fishes in the pond
Came up and waved their tails
The zephyrs and the breezes
Pulled down their quiet veils

The crickets in their crannies
Briefly quit their song
And cattails bowed their furry heads
In reverence all along

I had walked out with heavy heart
In loneliness and rue
Walk as you may sweet Nature said
‘Tis God that walks in you

So we must greet each other
As Nature’s creatures do
In homage to the Presence
That all ways walks with you
