Our Flower
for Doris on her 90th

Free as wild flowers,

Sweet as any rose,

Gen’rous as geraniums,

Tulips all in rows.

Fine as lady slippers,

Perfect peonies,

Glad as gladiolus

Or pink anemones.

Delicate as lilies,

As any orchid, rare,

Sharp as cactus flower,

As snowy iris, fair.

Cheerful as the cherry,

Peach, apple blossom, plum,

She’s our morning glory,

She’s Doris! She’s our MUM.
