Fearless

Since naught in life allows us
Beyond the grave to see,
And no experiences here
Are like eternity,

I take it for a comfort
And fill my heart with cheer,
As life has well acquainted me
With my only fear.

I lay my head down nightly
In darkness and beget
The zero of a dreamless sleep,
So have no fear of it.
